Commonly known as Korean BBQ short ribs, these burst with savory flavor! In order for the marinade to really sink in and penetrate the meat, the ribs are sliced thin. A cast iron pan or wok will work best for this recipe. Pair it with steamed rice, steamed veggies, kimchi, and eat with chopsticks for the real Korean experience!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs short ribs
- 3/4 cup soysauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup applesauce or pear puree
- 7 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp spring onion
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp pepper flakes
Directions:
- In a bowl, add all the ingredients, except for the meat, and mix thoroughly.
- Add the meat and marinate overnight.
- Preheat your cast iron pan.
- Place the meat to your pan but don’ t over crowd it. Brush some of the marinade to the meat. Cook until golden brown.
- Serve with steam rice and kimchi. Enjoy!
Note:
If you can’t find short ribs, use flank steak or even chuck roast if you want. Just make sure you slice it thinly for the marinade to penetrate well.
