Cassava cake is one of the first deasert I learned to make! With only five ingredients you can make a dessert! I served this to my friend Lorae, she liked it so much we became BFFs!
Ingredients
- 1 pkg (14 oz) grated cassava (available in Asian store)
- 1 (14 oz)can coconut milk
- 1 (14 oz) can condensed milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup macapuno strings (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl, mix together the coconut milk and condensed milk. Set aside half a cup of the mixture for toppings.
- In another bowl, mix the grated cassava, egg, and the macapuno strings.
- Combine the cassava into the coconut mixture and mix until no more lumps.
- Transfer into an oven proof dish and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Remove the pan from the oven and pour the coconut mixture on top.
- Switch the oven to broil and bake until the top is golden brown. Make sure you watch it closely as it can burn fast.
- Let cool before serving.
- Serve with a cup of tea. Yum!

You can get grated cassava in the freezer section in any Asian store.
