Meet the sisters of my Peach White Chocolate Muffins, Dark Chocolate Muffins! They’re moist and dark with deep chocolate flavor, and there’s bits of chocolate in every bite. The secret ingredient? Chocolate milk! This is everything you’d want in a chocolate muffin, if you’re a chocoholic like me!
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 2/3 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup yogurt or sour cream
- 1 cup chocolate milk ( I use Promiseland chocolate milk)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp chocolate extract
- 2 oz chocolate chips, melted
- 1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
Directions:
- In a bowl, sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
- In a mixer bowl, add eggs and yogurt. Mix until combined with a smooth consistency.
- Add the chocolate milk, vegetable oil, and chocolate extract. Mix for a few second.
- Gradually add the flour mixture. Mix until combined, for about 10 seconds. Don’t overmix it!
- Add the melted chocolate and chocolate chips. Mix by hand just until combined.
- Place in a greased muffin liner, each 2/3 full.
- Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Serve with tea or coffee!
Note:
Use Hershey’s Dark Cocoa Powder for a darker color! If you can’t find chocolate extract, you can replace it with 2 tsp vanilla extract.
