This is my version of Jollibee’s spaghetti with meat sauce. Filipino spaghetti is sweet and cheesy, which is why my kids love it! Follow the recipe below; I’m sure you’ll love it as well!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 medium sized yellow onion
- 2 carrots, peeled and finely chop
- 5 pcs hotdogs
- 1 cup spam, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup banana ketchup
- 2 cups tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp chicken base or chicken bouillon
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 5 bay leaves
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 package spaghetti
- Cheddar cheese, grated
Directions:
- In a pot, add 3 tbsp olive oil and saute the garlic and onion until softened.
- Add the ground beef and saute for 5 minutes.
- Add the carrots and sausage. Saute for another 5 minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, chicken bouillon, salt, pepper, sugar, dried parsley, and bay leaves. Simmer for an hour.
- Cook your pasta according to package direction. Toss the cooked pasta with olive oil so it doesn’t stick together.
- Arrange the cooked pasta on a platter and pour in your meat sauce on top.
- Add the grated cheese on top. Yummy!
Note:
You can get banana ketchup from asian store, if its not available just use tomato ketchup and add more sugar.
