Pico de Gallo

Pico de Gallo is a classic Mexican salsa. It’s good with almost any dish that needs some added kick and freshness. Try it with fried fish, steak, pulled pork, or tortilla chips.

Ingredients:

  • 5 roma tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 lime

Directions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Squeeze the lime juice and mashed gently with a fork.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips or as a side dish for fajita. Enjoy!

Note:

If lime is not available where you live you can substitute it with any citrus fruit like lemon or calamansi. Add more salt if you prefer, but if you’re serving it with tortilla chips you may want to try it first since tortilla is already salty.


Chop the onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeno.
In a bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well.
Serve.
