Ground beef is the star of this recipe, and with the addition of a few basic ingredients, you can make yourself a tasty meal in no time!
Ingredients:
Serves 6
For the beef patties:
- 2 lbs ground beef (70%/30%)
- 1/2 cup grated yellow onion
- 1/3 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
For the gravy:
- 5 clove garlic, grated
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped or grated
- 4 oz mushroom, thinly sliced
- 2 cups water
- 1 packet brown gravy (I used McCormick)
- 1 tsp beef flavor
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- salt and pepper
Directions:
- Combine all the ingredients for the patties together. Mix well.
- Divide the mixture into 6 small patties.
- In a saute pan, heat 2 tbsp oil and fry your patties until golden brown, five minutes per side. Don’t worry about cooking them all the way through. They will cook further in the gravy later.
- Transfer the cooked beef patties onto a plate.
- Add 2 tablespoons olive oil in the same pan. Saute the garlic and onion for few minutes until translucent.
- Add the mushrooms and saute for another 5 minutes.
- Dissolve the brown gravy mix in 1/2 cup of water and add it to the pan.
- Add the remaining water and beef flavor. Stir until combine.
- Add the beef patties. Season with salt and pepper
- Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream. Stir and simmer for a few more minutes. Don’t let it boil.
- Serve while warm with mashed potatoes or warm steamed rice! Enjoy!
Note:
1 tbsp of dried parsley will work just fine in place of fresh parsley.
Thanks bff!
