Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless chicken breast
- 2 tsp ginger, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp freshly ground cumin
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
For the sauce:
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 (15 oz cans) tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp chicken bouillon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions:
- In a bowl, add the chicken into the marinade. Marinate for 2 hrs or even better, overnight.
- Preheat the grill to 350*F.
- Line the chicken chunks onto the skewers .Grill the chicken until brown. They’ll cook further in the sauce so don’t worry about thoroughly cooking them for now.
- Remove the chicken from the skewers and set aside.
To make the sauce:
- In a heated pot, add oil, garlic, ginger and onions. Saute for a few minutes.
- Add the garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and paprika. Saute for a few seconds just until fragrant.
- Add the tomato sauce, sugar,chicken bouillon, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for about half an hour.
- Add the cream and simmer for couple of minutes.
- Add the grilled chicken and mix until totally combined. Simmer for a few another 20 minutes.
- Serve while warm with steamed basmati rice. Enjoy!
