Banana con Yelo

My kids loved this! They don’t know what it’s called, when they had it the first time, they just keep on saying it’s so good mommy! They liked it especially the little tapioca pearls which they call fish eggs.

Ingredients:

  • 4 saba bananas, peeled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup small tapioca pearl (sago), cooked
  • 1/2 cup jackfruit, sliced thinly
  • 1 cup half and half
  • Shaved ice

Directions:

  1. In a pot, add the water and sugar. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved. Let it simmer for about half an hour.
  2. Add the tapioca pearl and bananas. Cook in a low heat for another 30 minutes or until the banana is tender.
  3. Add the jackfruit and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer into a serving plate.
  5. Add the half and half and shaved ice. Enjoy!

Note:

Classic banana con yelo uses shaved ice but if its not available , you can use regular ice just like in the picture below.
