This is a Filipino meatloaf made from ground pork, sausage, boiled egg and lots of raisins. It’s totally different from American meatloaf. These are more on the sweet side, they’re delicious!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground pork
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 head garlic, minced
- 1 medium sized yellow onion, minced
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup carrots, grated
- 1/2 cup green olives, finely chopoed
- 1/2 cup red bellpepper, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup pickle relish
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 3 to 4 pcs regular hotdogs (not jumbo)
- Boiled eggs
Directions:
- In a big bowl, add the ground beef and pork.
- Add the ground pepper, salt, paprika, and sugar. Mix well until combined.
- Add the bread crumbs, cheese, and eggs. Mix well.
- Add the carrots, pickles, olives, bell peppers, and raisins. Mix until combined.
- Portion about 2 cups of the mixture. Flatten a little bit. Line the hotdogs and boiled eggs next to each other.
- Close it up until the hot dogs are completely covered.
- Place in an aluminum foil and wrap it like candy. Make sure you roll it tight.
- Place in a steamer. Steam for 2 hours on medium low heat.
- To serve, remove from the wrapper and serve with ketchup and steamed rice.
