These are an all-time favorite in my family! Whenever I make these, I have to make my own bread because its hard to find bread that’s long enough! It’s definitely extra work but it’s worth it.
Ingredients:
- Olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 7 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 medium-sized yellow onion, grated
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 packet tomato flavor bouillon
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- Salt and pepper
- 6 inches long sausage or any size sausage
- Hotdog buns
- Pickle relish
- Sweet pickled pepper
Directions:
- In a pot, add olive oil and ground beef. Saute until the meat is no longer pink.
- Add the garlic and onion and saute for a few minutes.
- Add the spices, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne, turmeric and tomato bouillon. Stir.
- Add the Worcestershire, apple cider, ketchup and tomato paste. Saute for about 5 minutes.
- Add water and bring to a boil. Simmer for two hours. Allow to cool.
- Prepare the cheese sauce, in a sauce pan over medium high heat, add and mix the cheese and milk.
- Whisk until you reach a smooth consistency.
- Add the ranch powder and mix until combined.
- Simmer for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.
- Grill or fry the sausages.
- To assemble, place the sausage in a bun.
- Add the chili sauce. Then add the cheese sauce.
- Top it with some pickle relish and sweet pickled jalapeno.
- Serve and enjoy!
