The “secret” to making a perfect omelette is to simply use a nonstick pan. With a nonstick pan, it is much easier to flip the omelette. On that note, although most omelette recipes are as a simple as just ham, eggs, and cheese, I prefer mine loaded with more ingredients! These ingredients will stick to any other normal pan, so go nonstick!
Serves 8.
Ingredients:
- 10 eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 cup ham, diced
- 2 cups grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 cup spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper
- 2 tbsp spring onion or chives, finely chopped
- 5 tbsp margarine (or butter)
Directions:
- Whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Preheat your pan and add 1 tbsp butter.
- Add about 1/4 cup of the egg mixture. Swirl it around until the the egg is almost dry.
- Sprinkle cheese over the eggs.
- Add the ham, mushrooms, spinach, and red bell pepper.
- Fold into halves (see below).
- Flip it over and cook for a few more minutes on medium low heat.
- Add chopped tomatoes and green onions on top if you prefer.
- Enjoy with coffee or hot cocoa!
