Peach Cobbler

I’ve been using this recipe as far as I remember, and although I’ve tried to revert back to my other versions of this recipe, I always come back to this one! It’s so easy to make, the ingredients are always readily available. Make sure you have vanilla ice cream ready before you make this…it would be a sin to eat peach cobbler without a scoop of ice cream on top!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 (28 oz) canned peaches, sliced
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom (optional)

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  • In a saucepan, add the butter and cook until golden brown. Don’t leave it, as it can burn fast! Set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the milk and mix until combined.
  • Pour the clarified butter into the baking dish.
  • Add the batter (flour milk mixture) on top. Make sure you spread the batter on every corner, but don’t mix.
  • Arrange the peach slices on top.
  • Then mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. Sprinkle on top.
  • Bake for an hour or until golden brown.
  • Serve while hot with vanilla ice cream (I prefer french vanilla).
  • Enjoy!

  1. I personally prefer Blue Bell’s vanilla ice cream whenever I have this. Makes a difference! Great recipe
