These dumplings are so good, they probably shouldn’t even be considered an appetizer! Follow the recipe below…hey, with enough of these, you might not even need a main dish!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground pork or chicken
- 4 oz shrimp, minced
- 3 tbsp rice wine
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 4 scallion, finely chopped
- 2 cups cabbage, finely grated
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 eggwhite
- wonton wrappers
- vegetable oil
- water
Directions:
- In a bowl, combine ground pork, shrimp, rice wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic, and ginger. Mix well.
- Add cabbage, carrots, eggwhite, and cornstarch. Mix until well combined. Refrigerate for couple of hours or overnight.
- Place two teaspoon of filling in the center of your wonton wrapper.
- Brush edges of the wrapper with water. Fold it over to form a moon shape and press the edges together firmly to seal. Do this until you finished all the fillings.
- In a saute pan, heat a tablespoon of oil. Add 8 potstickers and cook for about 3 minutes on each side or until brown.
- Turn up the heat and pour 1/4 cup of water. Cover and turn the heat down and cook for another 3 minutes. Repeat this process until you finished all the potstickers.
- Transfer to a dish and serve with yuzu sauce with pepperflakes. Yum!
Note:
If you don’t have yuzu sauce, you can make your own dipping sauce by combining soy sauce, fried garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice and pepperflakes.
