This spring roll sauce is similar to the one you get from the store but for a fraction of the cost. It’s so easy to make and can be keep in the fridge so you have always a sauce ready whenever you make spring rolls! This sauce can also be used with fried fish, pork chops or any dish that needs some kick!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 cup
- 2 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and grated
- 3 tbsp grated carrots
- 2 tsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp water
Directions:
- In a pot, add water, vinegar, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is melted.
- Add the chili flakes, chili powder, salt, garlic, carrots, and fish sauce. Stir and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl add the cornstarch and tap water. Mix until the cornstarch is dissolved.
- Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the pot while stirring constantly.
- Simmer for a few minutes.
- Let cool and transfer to a clean jar. This sauce is good up to three months in the fridge. Enjoy!
