Sweet Chili Sauce

This spring roll sauce is similar to the one you get from the store but for a fraction of the cost. It’s so easy to make and can be keep in the fridge so you have always a sauce ready whenever you make spring rolls! This sauce can also be used with fried fish, pork chops or any dish that needs some kick!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and grated
  • 3 tbsp grated carrots
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp water

Directions:

  1. In a pot, add water, vinegar, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is melted.
  2. Add the chili flakes, chili powder, salt, garlic, carrots, and fish sauce. Stir and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl add the cornstarch and tap water. Mix until the cornstarch is dissolved.
  4. Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the pot while stirring constantly.
  5. Simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Let cool and transfer to a clean jar. This sauce is good up to three months in the fridge. Enjoy!
