Sweet Pickled Jalapeño

This condiment is good with any kind of dish that needs a kick and sweetness. It’s good with sandwiches, barbecue and fried foods!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs jalapeños
  • 1 medium sized carrot
  • 1 shallot, sliced thinly
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
  • 4 habanero peppers
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp salt

Directions:

  1. Wash and slice the jalapeños.
  2. Add the chopped carrots, onions, and garlic.
  3. In a pot, add the water , apple cider, sugar, turmeric, and salt. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. Add the jalapeño mixture. Stir and simmer for another 15 minutes.
  6. Turn the heat off and allow to cool.
  7. Transfer into a clean jar and close the lid.
  8. Place in the fridge until its ready to use.
